Consumers wishing to switch gas deals might be interested to hear that a campaign group is urging householders to pursue refunds from an energy supplier.
Consumer Focus is encouraging some 700,000 individuals who paid too much for their cheap gas in 2007 to approach energy giant npower and demand their money back.
It comes after the watchdog and npower announced that some £70 million would be paid back to customers last October, and since then, almost 1.2 million people have received £51 million.
Christine Farnish, chair of the campaign group, commented: "It is great news that over fifty million pounds has now been put back into the pockets of over a million people by npower. We want to encourage all those consumers still entitled to a refund to get the cash that's rightfully theirs."
She advised eligible customers who have received a payment letter from the energy supplier to go to their local Post Office for a refund.
