Hundreds of energy suppliers from the renewable sector have honoured a dedicated green energy campaigner for his commitment and contribution to the cause.
The Co-operative Bank's Chris Matthews has spent the past six years heading up the company's specialist renewable energy team.
His expertise in onshore wind, biomass, hydro and combine and heat and power systems has helped the bank to recently fund the UK's largest green energy scheme.
In recognition of his 16 years in the renewable sector, Mr Matthews was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Renewable Energy Association (REA).
More than 200 energy producers and suppliers nominated Mr Matthews, with the specialist also jointly awarded the first ever Judges Award.
Keith Alderson, managing director of corporate and business banking at the bank, said: "Chris Matthews plays an integral role in the Bank's renewable energy team and has a depth of sector knowledge that I daresay is unrivalled in the industry."
The REA was established in 2001 as a not-for-profit trade association designed to achieve a regulatory framework for renewables.
