Welsh firm receives cash injection to help provide cheap energy - 02/01/2009
A Welsh firm based in Machynlleth has received a £7 million cash injection to help support its work providing cheap energy through green technology, reports the Daily Post.
Dulas Ltd specialises in installing microgeneration technology in public buildings to help reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and pursue cheap energy from local energy suppliers. The new funding has been provided by the Department of Energy and Climate Change and is designed to help the company supply solar panels to installation companies across the UK.
Ian Draisey, a Dulas director, said: "This extra £7 million is a timely boost for the team at Dulas. We recognise that the next six months will be crucial and we are keen to make the most of this opportunity."
The government funding will also help the company weather the current economic downturn and will safeguard at least ten of the firm's 60 jobs for a year.
Dulas is due to play an integral role in reducing the UK's national greenhouse gas emissions while helping public buildings to reduce their energy expenditure.
