Individuals who have performed an energy comparison and are looking for other ways of lowering their gas and electricity bills could benefit from a new government-backed service.
The Department of Energy and Climate Change has awarded the contract for its advice line to the Energy Savings Trust, which will offer impartial suggestions about how to cut expenses.
Climate change minister Greg Barker said: "Having a central and trusted advice line will be crucial to ensuring people have all the right information about how they can save energy and money."
It is set to offer guidance on the help that is available through existing schemes such as the Warm Front and the Carbon Emissions Reduction Target, as well as support new initiatives such as the Green Deal.
Earlier this week, Mr Barker told the British Property Federation Residential Conference the Green Deal will be a "fantastic opportunity" for improving efficiency in the UK.
