Going green could attract financial benefits - 20/06/2011
Business energy clients who go green are more likely than not to see financial benefits from the changes in their workplace.
According to Dominic Wood, programme coordinator for Groundwork: "Small businesses are able to make significant savings on their outgoings by reducing energy spend, the purchase of raw materials and processing costs by employing more efficient processing techniques, which may also be able to reduce the volume of waste produced."
He noted that companies might also be able to attract new business and maintain existing contracts by demonstrating their green credentials.
"The green pound is growing year-on-year as consumers vote with their feet and demand more sustainability from the products they buy and the companies that produce them," Mr Wood added.
Meanwhile, businesses could also look into taking out green energy tariffs, which could help them save money and become more eco-friendly simply by logging onto an energy comparison site and switching to a different energy supplier.
