Business energy customers who are looking to save money by switching to other energy suppliers could implement energy efficiency measures in and outside the workplace.
According to Sacha Billett, marketing manager at liftshare, employees could save on fuel bills by inviting colleagues to travel to work together in one car.
"Obviously with the price of fuel going up, [cost is a factor] - especially if they have to pay for parking when they arrive as well," she pointed out.
"In terms of trying to bring down their carbon footprint - if they are aware of green issues - this is a way that they can actively participate in that and it's quite an easy way to as well."
This is advantageous for business too, as sharing transport widens catchment areas for employment and increases accessibility for staff, Ms Billett added.
Meanwhile, companies could also cut costs if they switch gas or electricity tariffs to cheaper deals.
