Energy users wanting to switch gas deals might be interested to hear that government officials have cut carbon emissions by almost 14 per cent in a year in Whitehall.
Some £13 million is estimated to have been saved by the energy efficiency drive across government offices and headquarters, along with more than 100,000 tonnes of CO2.
Prime minister David Cameron said the 13.8 per cent cut was a "great result" and congratulated civil servants on their efforts.
But, he added, "to be the greenest government ever we need to do more to stamp out energy waste in Whitehall and make it easier for people and business to use energy more efficiently".
Mr Cameron then announced that the carbon cutting target will be raised to 25 per cent by 2015.
