Business energy users might like to take a leaf out of Barnsley football club's book and reduce their bills by half by switching to cheap electricity.
According to Team Talk, the club is set to become Britain's first football squad to be powered by solar energy and will be installing two photovoltaic panels on the roofs of its stands next month.
The team hopes the move will save them tens of thousands of pounds by lowering energy costs, as the power generated by the panels will be used to run the club's buildings.
Don Rowling, general manager of Barnsley's Oakwell football ground, commented: "With energy costs spiralling and likely to continue that way it makes business sense to use the large amount of roof surface available to us to save the club money and also to reduce our carbon footprint.
He added: "This just shows what a green place Barnsley is and even though we are the Reds we can go green."
