Consumers who are left confused by their energy bills might be tempted to switch gas supplier to the Co-operative after the group launched a simplified tariff.
The single variable Pioneer tariff was unveiled last week and pledges to reduce the complexities of a "baffling and bewildering" market.
It also promises not to penalise customers who decide to switch energy suppliers.
Nigel Mason of Co-operative Energy commented: "It's time this industry had a radical shake up, customers have been bamboozled by complicated tariffs and confused by changing prices and unfair contracts - and it has to stop.
"We are determined to provide a fair and transparent service for Co-operative Energy customers and to let them share in the profits. We are campaigning for long-overdue reform in the energy industry," he added.
The launch comes after energy industry regulator Ofgem launched a review of the market after concerns were raised that energy suppliers were making excessive profits.
