Co-operative Energy has become the cheapest energy supplier in the Midlands, householders wanting to switch energy suppliers might be interested to hear.
The supplier has reduced prices to an average of £942 a year, if bills are paid by monthly direct debit, which is the second-cheapest option behind ScottishPower's Online Energy Saver 14 tariff.
It is bucking the trend by lowering costs in its 'home' region, as most energy suppliers surprisingly charge more in their own home areas.
Domestic energy users in Hereford, Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Worcester might therefore want to switch energy tariffs to the Co-operative Pioneer tariff.
However, in other parts of England, ScottishPower's cheap energy tariff is the best deal in many regions, although consumers in Scotland picking the same one will have bills an average of £100 higher than those south of the border.
