Domestic energy users might be interested to hear that EDF has won a contract to supply public sector buildings, as well as motorways and museums, with electricity.
The energy supplier was handed the UK's largest ever electricity supply contract by annual volume, meaning it will power the equivalent of 2.3 million homes over four years from next April.
It will also be advising the government on how to conserve energy and cut emissions.
Chief executive Vincent de Rivaz commented: "As the UK's largest supplier of electricity to businesses and the leading generator of low carbon electricity, we have the expertise to support the government in its sustainability agenda, improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions."
The contract will see EDF supplying energy to police stations, hospitals, city academies and other public buildings.
