Business energy users that are looking for energy efficient lighting options could consider using LEDs.
According to Matt Hill, sales development manager at Arrow Electronics, most customers choose LED lighting because it lowers energy wastage in the home or business.
"The main goal that a lot of people strive for is energy reduction and cost reduction, but equally they can be used for effect," he explained.
When selecting LED options, he said firms can choose either to purchase cheap components "that will achieve a certain look or a particular level of energy efficiency".
However, Mr Hill pointed out that "you get what you pay for", but if businesses want a lighting product which will last 50,000 to 100,000 hours and is "at the absolute peak of the technology's efficiency levels", it could be "quite costly".
His comments were made at the Architecture, Retail and Commercial Lighting Show preview event, which comes ahead of the main show on January 12th and 13th 2011.
