Social housing tenants may find they are able to secure cheap energy bills thanks to the re-launch of the Renewable Heat Premium Payment (RHPP).
The competition is being reopened and local authorities, housing associations and other registered providers of social housing are invited to apply for funding.
Millions of pounds will be available for landlords to spend on energy efficiency upgrades, such as biomass boilers, solar hot water panels and heat pumps.
Some 72 projects have already been allocated money through the initiative, with the winner announced on July 24th, with those who did not apply first time around encouraged to do so now.
Greg Barker, energy and climate change ministers, commented: "There is still money up for grabs and I would urge social landlords across the nation to apply and take advantage of all this scheme has to offer."
The third phase of the RHPP launched on August 8th and those interested have until October 9th to apply for funding.
