Cheap energy customers who thought they would be safe on a fixed rate tariff might be disappointed to learn that four such deals have expired this week.
Unfortunately, if you were on one of the packages that no longer exists, your energy supplier may well have put you back on to a standard rate tariff, just in time for the latest round of price hikes to kick in.
According to energy comparison site Energyhelpline.com, this move could see thousands of customers hit with larger bills.
If you've been using one of the cheap gas and electricity tariffs for the last couple of years, your bill could rise by up to £400 a year.
The expired tariffs include British Gas' Fixed Price August 2011, ScottishPower's Capped Price Energy September 2011, Atlantic's Online Fixed Price deal and Price Fix 4 from SSE, which includes Scottish Hydro, Southern Electric and Swalec.
E.ON's SaveOnline 2 offering has also ended.
