Green heating systems are one of the most cost effective means of achieving cheap energy, an expert has claimed.
UK country manager at Panasonic Marc Diaz explained how eco-friendly devices are "much more flexible" and cheaper to run than a traditional fossil fuel boiler.
It was noted the government's target of cutting the country's carbon emissions by 80 per cent by 2050 means there have been noticeable advances in technology.
"Efficient heating has played a key role in helping public sector developers comply with the government's Decent Homes Standard and will continue to do so in the future," Mr Diaz remarked.
The expert acknowledged the government's targets are "ambitious", but claimed the move will help those suffering from fuel poverty, by spurring the development of eco-conscious and cost-reducing solutions.
According to the Energy Saving Trust, using microgeneration technologies that are powered by renewable energy can help individuals to cut the cost of bills, as well as reduce their carbon footprint.
