British Gas - Online Price Protection

Customers signing up to this tariff must manage their energy accounts online at house.co.uk. There are cancellation penalties if you leave this tariff before the contract end date of 31/03/09, and these are £30 for gas and £20 for electricity.

British Gas has been given by us a 3 star service rating as they have a 24x7 call centre and excellent services to pay bills and submit meter reads online; however they also had the highest level of customer complaints in the industry in 2006 (source: Energywatch) with 3 times the level of complaints than their nearest competitor. In 2007, they are putting much more investment into their customer services to attempt to turn these problems around.  British Gas also provide free energy savings advice and advice to the fuel poor.
