Deputy prime minister Nick Clegg has unveiled further details of how he will help the public to receive the best gas and electricity prices.
He said: "We can't control volatile world energy prices, but we can still help people get their bills down."
Therefore, energy companies will have to provide customers with the best tarrifs to suit their needs on request.
A second Big Energy Week is to be co-ordinated by Citizens Advice, building on the success of the same event in January and reaching out to poor and vulnerable communities to provide efficiency advice.
This will involve power suppliers, consumer advocacy groups and state agencies informing consumers of the assistance available to them.
All of the major electricity and gas suppliers confirmed they support collective purchasing agreements and stated they will reply to all requests from people who want to be a part of these schemes as quickly as possible, Mr Clegg revealed.
