Many homeowners may still be able to get cheap electricity by fitting solar panels, it has been stated.
This is despite recent cuts to subsidies for the technology at the start of April and further reductions set to be brought in this summer.
Will Broadfoot, residential customer liaison for Joju Solar, said even though Feed-in Tariffs have fallen, people can still get a good return from the technology.
He stated: "At the moment, the return on investment is exactly the same, if not better, as what it was this time last year."
Mr Broadfoot added solar can still have a significant impact on a home's electricity bills, noting the landscape for the technology in the UK is "still very strong" due to the backing from the government.
