The £3.5 million Power Purchase agreement is an "industry first" and trading will commence by the end of the month, claims the firm.
Commenting on the news, Rob Turner, senior manager for direct material sourcing at Tarmac, said: "As a business it is important for us to continually look at ways in which we can not only become more energy efficient, but also reduce the use of fossil fuels. As part of this focus, we are exploring alternative sources of energy such as wind power."
Nuon Renewables' wind farm was selected from a number of energy suppliers and will provide the building materials firm with approximately 14.3 GWh per year of power.
According to Tarmac's company website, the business recycles around 200,000 tonnes of concrete every year - equivalent in weight to 500 jumbo jets.
