Energy efficient windows can help consumers save money on bills from energy suppliers, an expert has said.
Tom Kraeutler, host of home improvement radio show The Money Pit, explained that adding energy efficient replacement windows to a home can immediately help lower everyday energy bills, as well as increase a home's long-term value.
He stressed the importance of closely monitoring how windows perform after ten years to ensure that they are still in good working order. If they are not, they should be replaced as soon as possible.
"Vinyl windows and doors specified with LoE glass packages are a viable green option offering several distinct advantages for homeowners," Mr Kraeutler said.
As well as having exceptional thermal performance, vinyl windows are low maintenance and help to significantly improve energy efficiency.
According to Mr Kraeutler, as soon as homeowners install energy efficient windows, heating and cooling bills will drop soon after and consumers will start to recoup their investment.
