People who are looking to save money from their household budget could switch energy deals and try out one of the many tariffs available from energy suppliers.
They could also take steps to make their homes more energy efficient, saving themselves extra money in the long run.
According to government figures, householders could save more than £100 a year simply by fitting insulation to their lofts and cavity walls.
Energy and climate change secretary Chris Huhne commented: “With energy prices ramping up people want to know how they can keep their bills down. As well as shopping around for the best energy deal, insulating your home can also save you money straight away."
He mentioned that the government has told energy suppliers to do more to help their customers cut fuel bills, but householders could also be entitled to help available from the Energy Saving Trust to insulate their homes.
