Top England footballer Rio Ferdinand has given the green energy sector a boost by announcing that he is making energy saving changes to his life.
In an interview with the Guardian, the Manchester United player revealed that he has had an energy fitness audit on his home and has taken up some of the suggestions made by the auditors.
He said: "[You can do] little things like moving your sofa from in front of a radiator, changing lightbulbs. You get a better feeling about yourself, and the little things add up."
Rio's green awareness comes from when he was made an advocate for energy supplier E.ON's Energy Fit campaign.
Cheap energy users could compare green energy tariffs if they want to do something for the environment.
