Energy efficiency 'could save firms up to 20 per cent' - 13/10/2011

Business energy customers looking to perform an energy comparison in order to get cheaper deals have been advised by one expert there are several steps they can take to help cut their bills.

Chief executive officer at Intergence Systems Peter Job said that improving an enterprise's sustainability can have great benefits in terms of expenditure on gas and electricity, as well as boosting the green credentials of a company.

"We reckon you could save between 15 and 20 per cent of your energy costs through employing energy efficiency means throughout your infrastructure," he explained.

He added medium and large firms should look at their data centres as a key area in which money can be saved, observed that companies may find they can cut power usage by setting their air conditioning to a higher level, where it will operate more effectively.

Last month, it was stated by development officer at Global Action Plan Neeral Shah that focussing on energy efficiency can greatly help a firm's bottom line.
