Domestic energy customers who receive a poor service from their energy supplier might be likely to switch gas and electricity providers.
According to Consumer Focus figures, five of the Big Six energy suppliers saw their number of customer complaints fall in spring, with Scottish and Southern Energy garnering the fewest complaints about its service.
April recorded the lowest number of grievances made to the industry Ombudsman, Consumer Direct and Consumer Focus' Extra Help Unit, which could be because of the three bank holidays in the month.
However, the number of complaints made about EDF increased in the spring quarter and the supplier was awarded the lowest position of the six major energy companies by Consumer Focus.
Npower improved its service rating by one star, having been handed three stars in the April to June period, up from two stars in the first quarter of the year.
