People looking to compare gas and electricity prices may find they can get help cutting their bills if they have a contract with EDF Energy.
The supplier has announced plans to offer all of its customers free insulation where such items are not already installed.
Managing director of energy sourcing and customer supply at the organisation Martin Lawrence said undertaking this renovation is a simple step that can cut over £300 a year from energy bills if both loft and cavity wall insulation is fitted.
He added: "We recognise the need to build trust by being open and honest in delivering a fair deal for customers."
That is why the energy supplier will be writing to consumers over the coming months with a personalised energy plan, detailing clear and straightforward steps a person can perform to improve their gas and electricity efficiency.
Insulating homes effectively was one of the steps recently recommended by the government as a way to cut bills, along with comparing deals to find a cheaper tariff.
