Individuals who have Scottish Power as their electricity and gas provider may be able to benefit from a new scheme to help them get cheaper energy.
The company is to offer a new advice service that will give customers a check of their home and provide tips on how to reduce bills.
Initially, the programme will take place in Motherwell and North Shields to determine how successful it can be at delivering savings to domestic energy users.
Chief executive of retail and generation at Scottish Power Neil Clitheroe said: "Many customers, especially those not using the internet, value face-to-face energy advice and this new community based approach will provide them with sound guidance on all household energy issues."
This will include tips on insulation and energy monitoring as well as checking if a person is on the best tariff for their needs.
Recently, British Gas noted there are several schemes individuals can take advantage of to cut their bills, such as the Warm Homes Discount.
