'Solar panels are becoming more popular' - 03/02/2010

Solar panels are becoming an increasingly realistic way to generate business energy, it has been suggested.

According to British Eco Energy, many countries across Europe have been harnessing solar energy for quite some time and this form of energy generation will only start to gain more popularity over the coming years.

The organisation pointed out that the prospect of solar panels may start to encourage people to switch energy suppliers in order to become more environmentally-friendly and save money on their electricity bills.

Andrew Moore, managing director of British Eco Energy, said: "It is a good prospect for people who are looking at becoming greener, but also it's a financial investment as well because the solar PV panels are guaranteed for 25 years."

He added that as electricity prices from various energy suppliers continue to increase, people will be able to save more money from financial incentives to use solar panels.

A recent survey from Friends of the Earth found that 71 per cent of homeowners would consider installing green energy systems if they were paid enough money.
