Scottish Power Energy People Trust has launched a cheap energy efficiency scheme in conjunction with Link Housing Association.
As part of the initiative, the trust has made £15,000 available to fund places for Link housing officers to gain a City and Guilds Energy Awareness qualification.
So far, 13 members of staff take taken part in the four-day course, which educates professionals about how to identify domestic energy loss and reduce fuel poverty through increased efficiency.
The team of domestic energy advisors are then able to put their skills to use by providing support and advice to Link tenants.
Ann Loughrey, ScottishPower's head of corporate social responsibility and the Scottish Power Energy People Trust's company secretary, said: "Funding people to train in energy awareness is a valuable service for vulnerable residents in central Scotland.
"These qualified people are then able to assist local people with energy saving tips and create greater energy awareness."
The Scottish Power Energy People Trust is one of a number of Scottish Power initiatives aimed at assisting some of the UK's most vulnerable people.
