Domestic customers who need to find ways of getting cheap gas and electricity bills should replace their old boiler with an energy efficient one.
According to UK Energy Saving, modern condensing boilers are "much more efficient" than older models, but it is vital that expert opinion is sought to determine the size of the boiler needed for the property.
Hayley Jones, web marketing director for the organisation, commented: "Particularly in properties without mains gas, it is worth considering … whether a renewable energy source such as a wood-fired boiler is a viable option."
Gas customers may find their energy bills are noticeably lower after they have installed a new boiler.
Meanwhile, British Gas is offering consumers £400 off the price of a new Grade-A boiler if they trade in their inefficient Grade-G model.
