Business energy clients in the farming and agricultural sector could take advantage of a range of renewable energy incentives to drive down business energy bills.
According to Farmers Weekly Interactive, one farm in Herefordshire has installed micro-generation equipment from solar thermal panels to a wood pellet boiler to run the central heating and hot water systems.
Richard Collins, who runs Humber Court Farm, told the news source the boiler qualifies for the Renewable Heat Incentive and should make a 12 per cent return on investment.
He noted: "Even with heating oil at 30p a litre, we saved around £800 to £1,000 on fuel bills in our first year and, with oil at nearer 50p a litre, I reckon we'll be saving £1500-2000 a year."
Businesses could look into installing their own green electricity generating systems to cut down on commercial energy bills.
