A father of two has revealed that he saves hundreds of pounds each year through energy comparison.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Adnan Altin claims he tries to switch gas providers every year if he can.
The 39-year-old said that regular shopping around has helped him keep his gas and electric costs under control and he is constantly looking for new deals.
"A friend suggested I switched to First Utility after hearing me complain about the size of my gas bills," Mr Altin explained.
"They promised that their paperless billing system, and the way they get customers to submit their own readings, cut costs. And they offered a great deal that lasted for a year."
In addition, the Essex-based consumer received a number of key benefits as a result of comparing energy suppliers.
"We had to install a smart meter, new ¬thermostats on the radiators and a control panel to ensure the heating was on for the least amount of time ¬without the children freezing," he noted.
Britons interested in energy comparison should do so now, as wholesale energy costs are expected to surge following the unrest in the Middle East and the natural disaster in Japan.
