Energy supplier Scottish Power has been awarded a top rating for the quality of its customer service.
The provider received the maximum five stars from consumer group Which? in a study of the market based on data from Ofgem and Consumer Focus.
Chief executive of Scottish Power Neil Clitheroe said he was pleased to see the company's efforts to improve its operations in this area have been recognised.
He added it is important for the firm to build trust among its users and be open about their energy accounts.
"We know that more can be done and we constantly strive to improve customer experience in every area of our business," Mr Clitheroe continued.
New services introduced by the firm in recent months include a Midata energy monitoring service and a tariff check scheme that has helped more than 20,000 customers switch to a cheaper deal.
Mr Clitheroe stated the Midata system will help "empower customers when making decisions about their account" by showing them how they can lower their bills.
