First Utility launches cheapest energy deal - 02/08/2012

Energy supplier First Utility has announced a new electricity and gas deal that is the cheapest on the market.

The company's iSave Fixed V3 dual fuel rate will be fixed until December 31st 2013 and will cost households an average of £1,040 a year.

Having been launched two weeks ago, the deal has now topped the best buy table, replacing Scottish Power's Energy Fixed November 2013 offer.

The estimated cost is based on an annual electricity usage of 3,300kwh and 16,500kwh of gas.

According to First Utility, their new tariff means the gap between the cheapest and most expensive deals is now more than £300 per year.

The new rate follows the price cut announced by Good Energy, with experts claiming pressure is being placed upon the big six energy firms to follow suit.
