Firms looking for a cheaper business energy deal may be interested to hear how npower is looking to go green by fitting solar panels to one of its office locations at Staffordshire.
The firm will install 54 photovoltaic (PV) panels to the south-facing roof of the building, which will provide 100 per cent of the location's electricity needs.
It is expected the renewable energy source will save over £1,000 per year, while any excess power generated will be fed back into the grid to benefit from the government's Feed-in Tariffs scheme.
Solar expert at npower Helen Booker stated the firm is "delighted" the landlord has made the decision to use the clean power source, adding: "We will now be able to lead by example in demonstrating how effective solar PV can be for businesses."
Recently, the Mid-Devon Gazette reported that householders in the area are set to benefit from a scheme by the local authority to offer homes help with installing solar panels on their roofs.
