SSE had urged customers seeking to perform a price comparison in order to get cheap gas and electricity to also take advantage of a deal from the firm that can improve the efficiency of their homes.
The energy supplier is offering all consumers the opportunity to have loft and cavity wall insulation fitted for free, which it says could save individuals up to £310 a year.
Anyone who has less than 60mm of loft lagging and no cavity wall items will be eligible for the scheme, which is open to all homeowners and private renters, regardless of their gas and electricity provider.
Energy efficiency manager at SSE Stephen Millward said: "By taking advantage of our free offer, homeowners will save money on their energy bills and dramatically improve their lifestyles through improved housing."
Recently it was noted by Consumer Focus and National Energy Action that many people may not be getting the help they are entitled to, as the Warm Front scheme is set for a £30 million underspend this winter.
