Energy suppliers E.ON have released a new report detailing the most energy efficient types of homes in Britain.
The report found that student flats, Victorian-style residences and mid-terraced houses are the most energy efficient in the country.
The study rated properties on a scale of A to G according to their efficiency and found that a terraced street in Langport, Somerset, came on top of the overall list.
Cheap energy efficiency streets were also found in a number of other locations around the country including Peterborough, Bradford, Sheffield and Lancaster.
Dr Hasim Altan, lecturer in sustainable living at the University of Sheffield, who contributed to the study, pointed out that homeowners can carry out a few simple alterations to improve their eco credentials and reduce bills from their energy suppliers.
"Some properties are naturally more energy efficient than others," he said.
"However, by making a few small changes - be they behavioural or physical - customers could find themselves on the right road to upping their grades."
