E.ON to build eco homes in London - 27/04/2011
Consumers wishing to compare energy deals might be interested to hear that E.ON has joined forces with a building developer to create almost 2,000 new eco properties in London.
GreenWiseBusiness.co.uk reported that the energy supplier has teamed up with Barratt Homes to deliver projects in east London and Croydon, to bring the number of eco homes the collaboration has built in the capital to 3,400.
The two new developments will see the properties use energy from combined heat and power (CHP) systems, while biogas boilers will be used for heating and hot water.
Jeremy Bungey, head of community energy at E.ON, told the news source: "Partnership working plays a key role in the success of large scale eco-developments such as this.
"Decentralised energy centres, which generate community based, low carbon energy from more sustainable sources, help customers to lower their energy bills by using energy more efficiently and lowering carbon emissions," he added.
