Individuals looking to switch gas supplier in order to get cheap energy may be interested to hear that npower has performed well in a test of its boiler maintenance team.
Consumer group Which? ran an undercover review of the services provided by several energy suppliers and awarded npower's hometeam, which installs, services and repairs boilers, the maximum 4/4 rating.
Head of operations for energy services at npower Chris Thewlis said: "We take pride in our hometeam engineers who are always striving to offer customers the best service possible."
He added he was "delighted" that Which? had recognised the "performance and professionalism of our engineers".
While some companies performed well in the test, Which? noted others required multiple visits to complete the work, while one independent engineer recommended a complete boiler replacement instead of what should have been a simple repair.
Recently the consumer group also criticised the complexity of many gas and electricity tariffs, noting even a trained accountant was unable to accurately work out what their correct energy bill should be.
