Gas and electricity provider Npower has formed a new partnership with the National Federation of Builders (NFB).
The supplier is working with the organisation to deliver better energy provision to new construction projects.
Research has shown many building schemes are delayed because a lack of communication between the two industries slows down the connection of gas or power.
A recent report by the NFB also showed many construction companies feel like they don't have a good relationship with utility companies.
New connections manager at npower Nick Lewis says: "Given the current economic climate, building contractors and businesses moving into new properties cannot afford to face avoidable delays."
The deal comes just after npower announced a 31 per cent decline in its operating profits in the first quarter of the year.
