Britons worried about paying their energy bills this autumn are being advised to compare energy providers to see which of those offer social tariffs.
Member of the Scottish National Party Joe FitzPatrick is calling upon consumers to seek advice and take action if they are concerned they will not be able to pay their bills.
"As summer begins to turn into autumn and colder weather approaches, families on lower incomes should look for assistance with paying their energy bills or making their homes more energy-efficient," he commented.
The MSP advised consumers to look for firms that offer social tariffs for people on low incomes.
Certain types of consumers may also be entitled to reductions in their energy costs, he added.
Meanwhile, Britons could also find that they are eligible for grants to make changes to their homes in a bid to become more energy-efficient and benefit from cheap energy bills.
