An energy supplier specialising in ground source heat pumps has called for a major publicity drive to inform organisations how to apply for funding.
Andrew Sheldon, managing director of Ice Energy, responded enthusiastically to the green targets listed in the chancellor's Budget report, but said that more organisations need to be made aware of how to access the relevant funds, reports H&V News.
In his Budget report, the chancellor announced funding worth £70 million in grants which will be made available until new tariffs for renewable energy are introduced.
Mr Sheldon told the website: "Simple technologies, such as heat pumps, are already proven and we are managing and helping to drive that market along. But that market could grow even more rapidly if grants were easier to access and more people knew about these technologies."
In addition to the money allocated for decentralised renewable energy, the chancellor has increased the availability of funds for energy efficiency in social housing.
The government recently pledged to insulate every home in the UK over the coming years.
