Energy supplier SSE has announced it is supporting Big Energy Week by giving its customers practical advice and assistance in getting cheap energy bills.
The firm stated it will be offering free loft and cavity wall insulation to all users who have not yet taken action to fit these home improvements, which could save hundreds of pounds a year.
It will also set up a new hardship fund that is expected to provide help to up to 50,000 customers not currently covered by existing schemes to assist vulnerable individuals.
Other moves will include introducing an annual review to ensure all its consumers are on the best tariff and offering more information about the costs that make up their bills.
Director of customer services at SSE Tony Keeling said: "We want to help our customers take advantage of every means possible to reduce their energy bill and Big Energy Week is an excellent opportunity for customers to check that they are doing so."
The event has been organised by Citizens Advice and will be running until January 21st.
