British Gas 'best at customer communication' - 20/07/2012

Energy supplier British Gas has topped the list of companies providing the clearest communications with customers.

Research conducted by Which? looked at bills, price change letters and annual statements sent to homeowners to see which suppliers give the most straightforward advice and information.

Commenting on the results, managing director of energy at British Gas Ian Peters said: "At British Gas we are working hard to keep things simple, fair and transparent for our customers, helping them to understand the energy they use and to save money if they can."

He added that the company "really appreciates" the feedback on its communication, which received a five-star rating.

The news comes just weeks after British Gas announced it intends to radically overhaul the look and contents of its bills, with a dedicated 'Can I save money' section included.

Individuals will be able to see tailored advice on how they could lower their charges in the future.
