Smaller business energy users may find there are a range of measures they can take to ensure they are able to secure cheap electricity supplies.
It was noted by Gregg Corbett, marketing director at Avery, that smaller firms can often be in a stronger position than their larger counterparts as they have more control over their output and better direct communication with employees.
"The most fundamental piece of advice for reducing energy usage long-term is to empower staff to make a difference and make sure you have a culture that values and encourages the staff's contribution," he said.
Mr Corbett added other simple steps could include switching to energy saving light bulbs, ensuring computer equipment is turned off overnight and turning down heating by just a single degree.
Avery is the founder of Green Office Week, which runs from May 14th to 18th this year and will offer fun, simple ideas to make workspaces more eco-friendly.
