Insulation specialists the Mark Group have been awarded a contract to deliver cheap energy saving measures to homes across Wales.
Environment, sustainability and housing minister Jane Davidson confirmed the £3.3 million contract, which is expected to assist the company in helping almost 800 homes in Blaenau Gwent reduce their energy consumption and bills, reports Wales Online.
The Mark Group will work with energy suppliers EDF Energy along with the Welsh Assembly Government, Blaenau Gwent Council and Tai Calon to deliver the home energy improvements.
External wall insulation will also be offered to a further 245 homes under the Welsh Assembly Government's Arbed programme, a £30 million fund sourced from the Strategic Capital Investment Fund and the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change.
Bill Rumble, Mark Group commercial director said: "With secure funding in place, we can deliver energy-saving measures, which will really make a difference for many local people."
Earlier this year, the WAG launched its Energy Policy Statement, which sets out its commitment to reducing carbon emissions and improving efficiency.
