Energy suppliers Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) have unveiled plans for a major executive reshuffle as the company gets ready for the upcoming departure of its current chief executive.
Just recently, Colin Hood announced that he is to step down from the number one spot at the energy supplier, which he has held since 2002.
While his exact departure date has yet to be confirmed, the company has announced that it is to reshuffle its board ahead of the day, with Hood's main responsibilities to be divided between a number of other executives.
Announcing the plans, the chairman of the Perth-based energy supplier explained that the reshuffle will be carried out with the challenges posed by the modern market in mind.
"SSE is continually evolving and it now makes sense for one executive director to have responsibility for our integrated generation and supply business and other market-based businesses, and for one to have responsibility for a range of group services," he said.
At the same time, rival energy supplier British Gas has completed its takeover of the Rugby-based ECL Contracts in a deal worth £4 million.
