Energy suppliers First Utility launch UK's cheapest energy deal - 01/03/2010

Energy suppliers First Utility have announced price reductions to the iSaveV3 tariff, which makes it the cheapest energy deal in the UK.

Households that switch energy suppliers to First Utility could save money on their gas and electricity bills, with energy prices on the standard tariff now on average £8.35 cheaper for those paying by direct debit and £20.28 cheaper for those paying by cheque or cash.

The price reduction means that First Utility is now cheapest energy provider in every region of the country for single and two-rate customers, based on all payment methods.

Mark Daeche, chief executive of First Utility, said: "We see this Standard tariff as a continued commitment to our original pledge when we launched the company - to give consumers greater choice when it comes to choosing an energy supplier."

First Utility is the first energy company in the UK to install smart meters free of charge to UK households on a phased region-by-region roll-out.
