An expert has urged homeowners to make use of sources of cheap energy such as solar panels.
Mike Southall, national sales manager at Buderus, pointed out that solar thermal offerings can work in conjunction with boilers to improve overall efficiency and help reduce bills from energy suppliers.
"We feel that there is a far greater efficiency obtained by using the controls in conjunction with the boilers so that everything works together at the same time" he said.
Mr Southall explained that the demand for energy efficient solar products witnessed a dip last year, partly because very little money is budgeted on commercial installation.
He added that confidence is rising that sales of solar products will pick up between July and August this year, when people are likely to be carrying out modifications around their homes.
The new Energy Bill, which was announced on May 25th, aims to improve energy efficiency in British homes and businesses through a number of schemes including the establishment of a Green Investment Bank to promote low carbon projects.
