The developers of a proposed wind farm have announced its location, cheap electricity users in Bournemouth may be interested to know.
According to the Bournemouth Echo, energy supplier Eneco believes the offshore wind park will be able to power between 615,000 and 820,000 households.
Project director Chris Sherrington told the newspaper: "After comprehensively evaluating key aspects of the project in relation to wider stakeholder interests, we have chosen the most suitable location for the wind park.
"This is an important milestone in the lifetime of the development of this project and enables us to look to the future and consider wider impacts, such as the positive economic benefits our project could bring to the area," the expert added.
If plans obtain public approval pending a second consultation, construction could start on the green energy project in 2016 and finished by 2019.
The park could hold up to 240 wind turbines placed at a depth of 38m, the newspaper stated.
