Fujitsu to help firms improve their business energy efficiency - 02/09/2010

IT services provider Fujitsu is launching a range of services aimed at helping companies improve their business energy efficiency.

The services, which have been available in Australia for the past few years, include a two-week "quick-start" project that helps firms discover ways in which they can improve their operations, from enhancing their business energy management to increasing their use of virtualisation technologies.

Companies will also be advised on best practice guidelines such as turning off printers at night and proper disposal of e-waste.

This is followed by a longer four to six-month collaboration during which Fujitsu devises quantifiable cost-saving opportunities and implements them.

According to Fujitsu, the service is capable of reducing a company's business energy bills by an average of 20 per cent.

The service is currently being rolled out across the UK and the US and will be extended to other parts of Europe and further afield to Asia in the foreseeable future.
